Since October 2022, Tetra Consulting Ltd has enhanced competency standards of its health, safety and fire consultancy team by working in collaboration with The Fire Protection Association (FPA) to enrol consultants on the ABBE Level 3 Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment.
Recognising the growing industry requirement for competent professional fire risk assessors as well as proposed changes in relation to the Building Safety Act 2022, Tetra partnered with the FPA, who delivered the industry recognised accredited training. Although Tetra has full-time consultants with qualifications ranging from Engineering Degrees, CFPA-Europe Diplomas and a diverse range of accredited fire courses, the decision was made to ensure all full-time employees were a minimum of Level 3 or above.
Three courses have been undertaken over the past eighteen months with a total of twenty-five consultants, one senior team member and three Quality Assurance Managers all successfully completing the course, as well as already having six fully qualified consultants to this level previously. All attendees can now use the post nominals L3CertFRA and currently join both the Institution of Fire Engineers and Institute of Fire Safety Managers at Technician grade or have been graded at this level or above. Additionally, all consultants are in the process of attaining IFSM Tier 2 Competent Fire Risk Assessor status. Our QA Managers are all Tier 3 Validators under the IFSM Tiered Fire Risk Assessor Register scheme with Senior Consultants attaining Tier 3 TAFRAR as part of ongoing development.
As a leading consultancy, Tetra is committed to its people, nurturing them to develop and grow via continued professional development. Three consultants have subsequently gone on the pass the ABBE Level 4 Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment with some of the others within the team indicating they will commence the course in the near future.
As the business grows, Tetra will put all new consultants on the Level 3 course in the future, ensuring competency is embedded in the business as part of our mission to become the preeminent choice in risk management consultancy for those responsible for overseeing people, property, and workplaces.
