Job Purpose/ Scope of Role

To support Tetra clients with Asbestos Compliance and support in delivering Remedial Services all in line with their site-specific requirements, whilst following the Tetra defined processes.

To have complete oversight of remedial projects from enquiry through to invoicing while maintaining appropriate levels of contribution back into the business for the project management works.

The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of asbestos legislation to enable them to support within an NHS / Education environments for the Authorising Engineer (AE) element. In addition, commercial awareness and an ability to project manage for the fire and asbestos remedial works, being able to manage relationships between the client and contractors undertaking the works on site.

They will be able to contribute to the success of the organisation by ensuring compliance with industry regulations and fostering a culture of industry leading best practice while monitoring the standards of on site works.

Main responsibilities

The main responsibilities of this role will typically revolve around the following points.

These responsibilities may vary depending on the discipline, but some common tasks associated with the role are:

  • Support clients with compliance and policy decisions in NHS and Educational establishments.
  • Carry out audits on clients suppliers and contractors to confirm compliance.
  • Use recommendations produced within an Asbestos Survey or Fire Door survey and then providing the client with a solution to the issues raised.
  • Pull together pricing schedules and specifications based on the clients’ requirements.
  • Maintain spreadsheets detailing formal quotations, budget costs and marketing materials.
  • Organise formal quotations through a pool of accredited, or equivalent, subcontractors.
  • Undertake site visits – to meet with clients, as a part of initial pricing, pre-start meetings, progress meetings and sign off meetings to check works have been completed according to the scope of works.
  • Write detailed audit and or completion reports.
  • Client and contractor meetings.
  • Foster good working relationships with partners.
  • Be commercially aware and work towards achieving set targets.
  • Continuous Improvement.

Location: 

  • Remote working with occasional travel when required

Facts and figures

  • Tetra currently support in excess of 25 NHS Trusts and educational sites.
  • Every report going out of the business for Fire Doors or Asbestos will have recommendations that will be an opportunity for Tetra to undertake the project works.
  • This FY to date £4.5m worth of quotes produced based on Budget Prices for Fire Door Remedial and circa £350k in Asbestos remedial projects.

Key skill requirements

Knowledge:

  • CCP (Asbestos) or COCA or P401 – P405 working towards COCA.
  • DipFD in Fire doors (desirable not essential)
