We’re looking for a Senior Water Consultant

We are urgently looking for a Senior Water Consultant with at least 5 years' experience of managing water systems across either the NHS or Education sectors or similar large sized corporates or organisations. The ideal candidate must also have delivered and have good knowledge of delivering L8 risk assessments and ideally be from a Legionella Consultancy background.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree level qualified (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience of carrying out L8 risk assessments and ideally from a Legionella Consultancy background
  • Experience with High Risk Water Systems (Open evaporative cooling systems / Spa Pools / other High Risk Systems)
  • An approved Legionella Risk Assessment qualification eg. City & Guilds, BOHS, WMSoc
  • A good working knowledge of ACOP L8 & Guidance Documents
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be fluent in both verbal and written English
  • Experience working in and around NHS and education organisations would be ideal

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as a Senior Water Consultant and Legionella Project Manager
  • Good working knowledge of current Legislation; Health and Safety at Work Act, ACOP’s, British Standards & HTM’s that govern Legionella Management.
  • Managing Contractors who carry out Risk Assessments, Sampling and Water Treatment duties
  • Providing recommendations & overseeing the delivery for remedial works
  • Carrying out Independent Site Investigations
  • Collating and producing comprehensive reports and attending meetings to discuss findings of reports
  • Ability to delegate and or manage people

Attributes

  • The successful candidate will be flexible, have an excellent work ethic
  • Have the ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Will have a good working knowledge of commercial and industrial water systems, supplies and water regulations governing these/experience of Water System in and around NHS/Large Education establishments
  • Will be familiar with internal CAFM and Workflow Systems
  • Daily commuting distance of Cambridge

Term & Package

  • Full time, short term contract of 6-9 months initially
